NPTA Liability Disclaimer & Legal Notice

NPTA Certification is a voluntary credential and does not imply employment, oversight, or
endorsement of any individual transporter, their business practices, or the outcome of their services.

All certified drivers are independent contractors or business owners responsible for:

  • Maintaining their own pet transport/service insurance

  • Complying with federal, state, and local animal transport laws

  • Acting within the ethical and legal standards set by NPTA

Certification does not substitute for required insurance, USDA registration, or other licensing.
The NPTA does not assume legal or financial responsibility for incidents, injuries, or damages
that may occur before, during, or after a pet transport performed by a certified individual.
In the event of an insurance lapse or failure to follow NPTA Code of Conduct,
certification may be suspended or revoked. However, the NPTA shall not be held liable
for any acts, omissions, negligence, or misconduct by certified individuals.
This certification is a voluntary credential. It is not a warranty of service.
